Born 1956 in Beijing, China. Attends the Beijing Film Academy focusing his studies on filming techniques and obtains his Bachelor’s degree from the School of Photography in 1982. On the same year, he starts his teaching career at the Beijing Film Academy. During his career as a professor, he has published multiple academic dissertations on film and has been invited to lecture at highly acclaimed film schools around the world. In addition to his academic accomplishments, he acted as the executive producer for “Yasukuni”, a controversial documentary directed by Ying Li.
