Montserrat Guiu Valls

Montserrat Guiu Valls was born in Navàs -Barcelona- Spain, 1965. She graduated from the University of Barcelona as an Art History major in 1989. She then went on to study film conservation and restoration at George Eastman House, and Rochester Institute of Technology (USA) between 1992-93. Furthermore, she has a degree in Film Restoration from the Spanish National Film Archive, 1997.
She is the associate member of the Spanish Association of Film Historians since 1996. Between 1998 and 2002 she directed the Native American Film and Video Festival in Barcelona. Since 2004, she’s been a member of the Board of Directors at the Huesca International Film Festival, and a member of the Huesca Film Festival Foundation.
She has been invited as a juror in several short film festivals: Teheran (2005), Madrid (2006), Alcalá de Henares (2007), Regensburg (2007), Tampere (2009), Amman (2009).
