Born 1944 in Virginia, U.S.A. From 1983 to 1996, he works at Hakuhodo Inc. as a copy writer / creative director. While working for Hakuhodo, he founded The Word Works, Ltd. in 1984, providing fine translation, copywriting, research and consulting services. Furthermore, from 1994 to 2005, he acted as a lecturer in the Graduate Program in Comparative Culture at the Sophia University in Tokyo. For the 5th CON-CAN Movie Festival, he played a vital role in creating the English commentaries for each participating movie.
