Born 1956 in Kanagawa, Japan. Joins the Ishihara International Productions, Inc. in 1978 and starts his career as a cameraman for productions such as “Daitokai” and “Seibu Keisatsu”. After becoming a freelance cinematographer in 1982, he worked on multiple projects with Director Kon Ichikawa as chief cinematographer. He is currently a key member of the Japanese Society of Cinematographers, holding conferences and seminars focusing on the future of digital photography.
