Watch Locally, Think Globally

◆Online access to CON-CAN Archives will close on July 16th (Tuesday) at 17:00 (JST)

Dear friends and supporters,

Today, we have an important announcement to make.
After seven years of operation, CON-CAN has decided to take time to reflect on its purpose
and prepare for future challenges.

Due to the cessation of operations, we regret to inform you that both new member registrations and
online screenings of past programs will no longer be available after 17:00, July 16th (JST).

Please take this opportunity to access the archive and review any films you have missed or watch any films you liked again. (Please note that some films have already been made unavailable for online viewing at the director’s request.)

Although our online activities will cease for the meantime, our offline activities will continue as normal,
and your proposals and cooperation are always welcome.

CON-CAN started as a Japanese online short film festival from scratch in 2005, and it has
developed into unique online festival, receiving more than 2000 film submission over the past seven years.
Our festival was mentioned in "Offbeat gems" in TIME magazine.
Thanks to all the participants and supporting audiences, our festival opened its
door to the international festival circuit and made many friends all over the world.
This real human encounter and the relationships that developed have been our most precious achievements. We sincerely thank all of you who have taken part in this journey and made us who we are today.

This suspension of activities is not the end but only the beginning for us.
We will continue our explorations and return with new challenges and ideas.

We thank all of you once again for sharing your passion and inspiration, and for your generous support.
We will keep you updated with any further developments.

Until then, please continue to enjoy short films and support the short-film circuit worldwide.

Love and hugs from Tokyo.
