Nationality:
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Activities:
He has obtained experience in the area of 3-D animation from previous projects including advertisements, intro sequences for TV shows and through the creation of trailers for the animated feature film "Birds Like Us". "Tolerance" is his 1st independent short movie.

"Tolerance" was produced in less than a span of 3 months but the idea, characters, and scenario have all been created and refined a year before the completion date of February 2008. The movie has been created entirely by Ivan Ramadan, including the steps of directing, scripting, editing, animating, and post producing. The actual transformation of the movie into the 35mm format from digital data was supported by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The initial screening of the movie was at Meeting Point Cinema in Sarajevo, on May 6th, 2008.

In this animation, primitive people awaken from a long ice age. What will be the result of this awakening? The development of the main theme portrayed in this movie has deep roots in the religious history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 3-D animation that appears in this extraordinary 6-minute movie represents the dark allegory of human nature.

Even being Ivan’s first production, "Tolerance" has been creating much hype worldwide and has brought great fame to this young but highly-talented director. The movie has been awarded the "Heart of Sarajevo" for the best short film at the 14th Sarajevo Film Festival, won the Prix UIP award which automatically nominated the movie for the 2008 European Film Academy Awards and received many other awards. He is surely the rising star among the creators around the world.

Ivan mentions that he has had many positive experiences with various festivals and individuals in the movie industry this past year. He believes that Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon establish a strong standpoint in the European cinema scene, especially in the field of animation. His life long dream is to create an animated feature film that may be enjoyed by everyone in the world, regardless of any age, gender or cultural difference.
