The 2nd award ceremony took place on April 14, 2006 at the KDDI Design Studio in Tokyo. 341 movies from 44 countries were submitted and the Grand Prix and the Tamashii awards were decided by the CON-CAN International Jury members through an internet conference linking 7 nations.
CON-CAN Chairman, Masahiro Yoshino presented the award to the three winners: Yu Seock-hyun from the Republic of Korea, director of “The Chamber” (Tamashii award winner), Daniel Mulloy from the United Kingdom, director of “Sister” (Tamashii award winner), and Arto Tuohimaa from Finland, director of “Perkele” (Grand Prix award winner).
Teruyo Nogami from Kurosawa Productions gave a keynote speech of encouragement for the young directors of the world. A Jazz band provided entertainment before and after the actual award presentation.
