Slavek is an elderly caretaker of a public lavatory and is proud of his job. He becomes anxious to see more and more automatic toilets set in the town. Then a change happens. He falls in love with a woman toilet caretaker who is working on the other side of the street. A love story that takes place in a public toilet.
Grimur Hakonarson ('77) studied at FAMU - Film Academy in Prague.
His graduate film at FAMU, "Slavek the Shit", was selected to the Cinefondation section of Cannes Film Festival 2005. Grimur made many short films and documentaries in Iceland before he attended film school. Some of them have won prizes in festivals and been broadcast on television. His latest film, "Last words of Hreggvidur", won the Canal+ Prize at Nordisk Panorama in 2004 and was in competition at Clermont-Ferrand 2005.
