ABOUT THE FILM

Magnificent animation piece created by the director’s original, hand-work method. Based on the paintings of Michael Vrubel, this cinematographic narration is intertwined with poetical digressions from “Demon” by Michael Lermontov and conveys the atmosphere of early 20th-century Russian romanticism.

I found this short quite hard to follow, and felt it lasted longer than necessary. It looked nice, and was shot well but I wasn't taken I'm afraid.

I always admire movies successfully telling stories in indirect methods (via structures, combinations of details, etc.) After watching this piece, I got a very profound message the creator of this movie infused in the piece. Very well-calculated piles of details. 5 stars.

とにかく映像が幻想的で美しかった。言葉がほとんどないのに、見終わった後、作り手の心というのかメッセージ(?)が全体から伝わってきました。これは一枚一枚彩色しているのでしょうか?
