ABOUT THE FILM

In this animation from Bosnia-Herzegovina, primitive people awaken from a long ice age. What will be the result? The development of these theme has deep roots in Religious history of Bosnia. The 3D animations that appear in this extraordinary 6-minute film are a dark allegory of human nature.

Ivan Ramadan was born 1985. He lives in Sarajevo and studies Architecture. He has been doing 3D animation since childhood, and during 10 years gathered enough experience through different small projects. His first film "Tolerantia" (2008) became successful in Bosnia and around the world. It is the first 3D animated film produced in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The film was awarded with seven awards including the nomination for the best short film by the European Film Academy (EFA) 2008. It was shown in the official selection of 33 film festivals.

言葉も価値観もそぎ落とした原始の人の姿を借りて、それでも価値観が生まれれば争わずにいられない姿を描いているところに、これは人間が根源的に持っている問題なのか?と考えさせられます。タイトルが逆説的ですがそこに望みと救いを求めているのかも。

2回目に見て冒頭のテロップに気が付きました。舞台をボスニアに設定しているんですね。人間は争いをやめないんだということを受け入れ諦めながらも、やっぱり戦争をしてきた祖国の歴史に対する強い怒りを感じずにはいられないからこの作品を制作したんでしょうね。

宗教の違いだけで争う哀しい人の性が表されてて考えさせられます。二つとも滅んでしまうところに結末を見ますが出来ればもう少し光が射してくる様な方向性が欲しくなります。なにか希望はないのでしょうか?

First of all, thank you for comment! I think this represents the reality, it's just the way things are. We humans are like that and always will be like that. We will build and rebuild, and fight over small differences between us till the end of time. There is no hope - but it is natural, and each destruction completes one cycle, freeing up space for the next.
