A woman about to commit suicide is interrupted at the last moment by the sound of a baby crying. The sound of crying comes from a baby the woman has never seen before left just outside her front door. The movie depicts the drama of a woman with a deeply wounded heart being reborn together with the baby she has found and gives the viewer a poignant feeling of the importance of life.
Lau Chee Nien took film course in directing. His thesis film, Grandfather was screened at various international festivals and won a prize at Singapore Short Shorts Festival and Pyongyang Film Festival. He currently works as a freelance director for television programmes and recently produced a feature film Unarmed Combat.
