ABOUT THE FILM

Maika, a German-Japanese girl whose parents are divorced, lives with her mother. Her father has a new girlfriend, but Maika feels unable to understand the world of grown-ups. Maika visits her father and his girlfriend for the weekend with a vague feeling of unease. The film depicts a drama that gives a glimpse of spiritual growth during the time the three protagonists spend together. The uniquely childlike expressions are memorable.

Profile:
After making independent films at Waseda University, Miyayama moved to Germanay. She entered University of Television and Film Munich in 1998, and has been involving in cultural exchange activities.

マイカの赤いコートと赤い枕、食卓の壁のライト、  林のロケーション等等に、作品を構成するための視覚的センスを感じさせます。  現在準備中という長編映画が早く見たくなるような作品でした。

大好きな作品です。主人公マイカの子役の演技も素晴らしいですが、俳優の演技指導も含めて、監督さんの演出方法にも興味がわくような繊細な演出です。エレクトロニカな音楽もとても良く、全体のサウンド構成も演出に劣らず繊細で洗練されていました。

マイカの複雑な心境がよく表現されていたと思います。マイカ役の子が自然に演じていて、とっても可愛いです。
